Taurus decan 2 are ruled by the Moon. The Sun soldiers purposely on through the constellations of the River, the Queen, the Chained Princess, the Triangle, the Sea Monster and the Clock from May 1 to May 10.  These bulls are tenacious and ambitious; they rise to the top through sheer determination, patience and stamina. Taurus decan 2 aligns with a large number of stars in Eradinus the river. The constellation “gives a love of knowledge and science, much travel and many changes, a position of authority” Andromeda was chained to a rock by her father in an effort to appease Neptune and save his kingdom. In Taurus decan 2 we get the sacrifice of a child in order to get ahead. Bondage, pain and sorrow in a nod to Taurus’s opposite sign Scorpio. In common with this parental theme constellation Triangle is also related to Ceres, who begged for it to be placed in the sky. It is said that Jupiter gave Sicily to Persephone as a wedding present on her marriage to Pluto. Triangulum could signify triangular relationships within the family such like Pluto/Persephone/Ceres or be about bringing peace or compromise between warring tribes. Maybe that’s why there are quite a few statesmen in the celebrity list below. Triangulum “is said to give a just, companionable, truthful, righteous and benevolent nature, with interest in architecture and Freemasonry.”

Cih in Cassiopeia’s chair has no specific meaning though the Chinese called it a “Whip”. I always think of Cassiopeia as a bit of a stage mum; proud, ambitious, boastful and a stickler for keeping up appearances. Heaven help the child who brings shame on the family by being, gasp.. overweight or plain. Negatively this be an obsession with surface beauty and self-righteousness. Positively it will be the pursuit of truth and what is right and decent. The appreciation for the arts and aesthetics cannot be avoided with Almach in Andromeda. This stunning ternary star glow alternates between orange, emerald and blue. Robson gives this star Venusian qualities “It gives honor, eminence and artistic ability.” But the orange star brings out the Martian qualities of ambition and business savvy, hence the importance of presentation in the celebrities below.

Stage Mothers

In Taurus decan 2, art and beauty become a potent weapon. Menkar is situated in the open jaw of the Sea Monster that was sent to ravage Andromeda. It is considered unfortunate. The Ebertins say: “This star has a Saturnine character, corresponding to impediments of many kinds, worries and tests of endurance. Unjustified enmities, hardening and toughening these people in some ways.” The major problem with this star seems to be trouble with inheritance and throat ailments. Maybe some of the serial killers had this star strong in their chart because Robson’s harsh words really seem to emphasis it’s dark side; “Mental anxiety, hatred of the vulgar, ill-will of women, loss of marriage … inheritances attended by much evil, Strong and uncontrolled passions, jealousy, Evil associates, immoral, violent…” are just some of the descriptions, but again this depends on the planet and how it is placed in the chart.

To get through all that then, Taurus decan 2 must be tough cookies. It is interesting that the alpha star of the Pendulum clock falls here. Chronos/Saturn is the father of time and these subjects are patience in the supreme. Fixed sign Taurus will stubbornly stick to its principles no matter what. Welcome to the eclipse square Neptune. I’m such a nerd I managed to figure out what to do about my missing content. Images seem to cause the theme to act silly. Anyway. Horoscopes and all are working again. There may be some posts I have missed. But I have got all the recent ones and the most important stars.

UPDATE. I found out what the problem was. A plugin that added auto links. It was that simple. I must say Hostgator were absolutely fantastic trying to help me and tracking down a back up. They did it so fast and then it still wasn’t solved. Cancer decan 1 is ruled by Venus. The Sun gracefully pirouettes through the constellations of the Little Bear, the Twins, the Unicorn, the Dove and the Greater Dog between June 21 – July 1.  Alhena in Gemini has the greatest influence on this decan, followed by the “Announcer star” Mirzam. This stars is said to be common in the charts of broadcasters, and there is definitely a media influence here.

These people are extremely opinionated and have to have their say. It’s impossible to put a muzzle on them. Try to gag them and watch out for a rabid fit and disagree with them if you want to see them roll out the whites of their eyes. These pupils flash “Don’t you dare” and your own mouth involuntarily clamps shut. This is how Cancer decan 1 wins arguments. The Cancerian traits such as loyalty to the family, tenaciousness and grasping are made even stronger by the overlay of the Canis Majors loyal, devoted and faithful nature. The hunting dog can be ruthless and violent in their pursuit of their target, but amusingly whimper like babies when their master clicks their finger. And so it is with these subjects. Here you will see a mushy, maternal, loving and very domestic god or goddess. Try to enforce this without earning it and your pleasant Castor twin will swivel its head around to Pollux’s evil face, start foaming its mouth and looking like Regan from the Exorcist. Oh yes, there is a gothic fairytale side to Cancer decan 1. In Egyptian myth, dogs are associated with guiding the souls to the dead. Jackals are also tricksters too, like Gemini. This is why Cancer decan 1 can seem a little schizophrenic. On the one had they are loving, soft n’ gooey, fluffy bunnies and the next they are raging werewolves. The tropical sign of Cancer, is ruled by the Moon and the dog is also a lunar animal. The Moon has many phases of course, so these crabs change with the tide, most noticeably with the full Moon. Venus the decan ruler also has two sides to her, she is the Babylonian Goddess of both love and war.

There are many feet and leg stars in this sector. Diana Rosenberg found that her starsets here featured many dancers. The Little Bear Yildun was part of the set known as “The Dancers” which rotated around the Polestar right on the tip of the bears tail. I think a sense of rhythm is certainly true in the list of celebrities. Castor played the lyre and there are quite a few guitarists on the list too. Castor was also known for taming horses, while Pollux was a gifted boxer. Boxers appear to dance around their opponents too. What these stars generate here is a great sense of timing and knowing how to pace themselves. When it comes to making a speech, these folk will know precisely when to deliver the punch line for maximum effect. They are masters at turning on the violin strings plus the accompanying waterworks too. Cancer decan 1 can be manipulative and scheming when they want to be, but will also make fantastic actors and performers.

Propus on Castors foot is supposed to be highly fortunate and gives a life of eminence. William Herschel discovered Uranus close to this star, there in fact used to be a constellation called Telescopium Herschilli around this area too. The mysterious constellation of the Unicorn in this zone shows a fascination with magic and the moonlit sky at night. The stars of the Unicorn are not very bright and it’s very hard to make this illusive constellation out from the Milky Way in which it is tantalisingly swathed. Just when you think you know the people of the crab, they turn into something else, this gives them a fascinating, elusive quality.

The largest star here is Alhena, in the left foot of Pollux the immortal twin. Alhena means a brand or “mark burnt in”, Bullinger says this means “hurt, wounded or afflicted.” This may be this decans Achilles heel. Even though these crabs are so talented and skilled at getting what they want in life, they do have that soft centre and can be surprisingly vulnerable. There can also be a tendency to self-sabotage. Alhena gives imminence in art, skill with writing and speech and the ability to settle disputes peacefully. They certainly have the gift of diplomacy and this star must contribute to their incredibly persuasive personalities. The mix of the twins sharp minds and writing skills in sensitive, imaginative Cancer combine poetically to make great art here. Eric Morse observes that when each of the Gemini stars in this decan moved into Cancer Alhena in 1349, Tejat Posterior in 1621 and Propus in 1755 around these dates there was a significant flourishing of European philosophy and literature. Cancer decan 2 is ruled by Mercury. The Sun scorches its way through the constellations of the Twins, the Greater Dog, the Great Ship, the Lynx and the Unicorn from July 1 – 12. I am not surprise that there are some huge names on the celebrity lists below, since this decan contains probably the most famous star in the sky, Sirius. Cancer is awarded important luminary, the Moon as its ruler since it the first month of northern summer. The Moon is the second brightest object in the sky, when it is not being mysteriously dark! So it is befitting that Sirius should find its home in such a hot section of the ecliptic. We tend to think of Cancereans as being rather soft and pliable due to it being a water sign, but these people are no pushovers. Yes, when they are young they are as cute as hell with their trademark puppy dog eyes. Then they grow up to be great hairy wolves…in attractive sheepskin that is. The mix of water with the heat of Sirius makes these people incredibly sultry.

Take this fluffy wolf, then throw in Mercury the trickster and dark twin Pollux and you get a very intriguing breed of Cancerean indeed. In myth Mercury conversed between the gods and the underworld, he is a bridge and mediator between the two. There is a feel of being a guide here, a light in the inky black night. Dogs can guide the blind just as the stars guided the ships. Jamie Partridge found that Wasat in the twins can be a peace maker and bridge builder even though it has some negative associations. There can be a distrust of this decan, possibly because it takes these people a little time to shake off the coal dust from the underworld. They can seem a little scary in the bright sunlight, their “black looks” showing up the wisdom lines in their faces, like coal miners. They come across like old souls in a child’s body which can be a bit disconcerting  These folk’s super success may come from a deep feeling of being unworthy or tarnished in some way. Nevertheless these people are bright sparks and because of this attract a lot of envy. Often Cancer decan 2 don’t understand themselves why people are so jealous of them, when in fact they themselves are feeling envious of others.

Devoted Wolves

Cancer decan 2 can be the true moody, crabby crabs. When Sirius heats up, it’s a searing white heat causing a very premenstrual type temper that comes like a bolt from the blue. In ancient times Sirius was associated to feverish temperatures, which brought pestilence. The star was not regarded as a good omen at all. At the same time Sirius was Orion’s trusted hunting dog. For the Egyptians, Orion is Osirus, and Sirius is Isis his beloved wife, rather more elevated than a dog then! This Goddess totally fits with the side of Cancer that we know as the devoted, nurturing moon. This association gives Cancer decan 2 the ability to resurrect and ablity to breath life into the dead. Cancer is a cardinal sign, associated with the all-important Summer solstice. Decan 2 is the fixed decan segment, within the cardinal so it has the combination of passionate beginnings and the intensity of the established season. This bursting into bloom under the steady burn of the Summer Sun is known as the “Dog Days” The Romans feared this time as “the Sea boiled, the Wine turned sour, Dogs grew mad, and all other creatures became languid; causing to man, among other diseases, burning fevers, hysterics, and phrensies.” [1]

Hysteria comes from the Latin word for the womb, which is ruled by Cancer. Much of the heebie-jeebies towards Cancer decan 2, I think comes from the fear of the hidden, the dark and the subconscious. Fairytales are very Cancerean I think, how many of them feature the Moon, big bad wolves, evil step-mothers, unicorns and twins? Since Mercury is the ruler of this decan I also think this part of Cancer is the most connected with children. These folk can live in an eternal childhood where everything is magical and surreal, this certainly shows up in some of the artists and musicians here. Some of them remain charmingly young-at-heart till old age, retaining the bounce and velvety soft veneer of a puppy. Negatively they can remain stubbornly childish, refuse to grow up and expect the world to take care of them till they drop. Their lunatic side though is where great innovation happens, these subjects never rehash old ideas, and everything seems brand new, seen for the first time. Cancer is associated with nostalgia and the past, but even if Cancer decan 2 should be inspired by times gone by, it is presented or updated in a radical new way. It will seem totally fresh even if its 2000 years old.

Sirius in recent times is associated with fame, eminence and riches. But depending on its connections within the chart, it can also be success that burns. Sirius with Mars is considered dangerous since it can push one to be so ambitious that you don’t care who your tread on to reach the top. This can cause attempts on ones life in extreme circumstances. Otherwise with Jupiter or the Sun, one has protection and gains wealth according to the Ebertins. Robson says Sirius gives “It gives honor, renown, wealth, ardor, faithfulness, devotion, passion and resentment, and makes its natives custodians, curators and guardians.” You can certainly see this in some of the geniuses below, their knowledge being passed down to the next generation. Of course there are a few shady characters too, reflecting the face of Pollux the “Evil” twin.

If these lunar types don’t honor their moods, they can really lash out. Cancer decan 2 simply cannot give, give, give 24/7 without some serious, Sirius burnout. The fire breathing dog only surfaces when they have not given themselves enough time to become hermit crab for a few days each month. Canopus in the Great Ship is way off the ecliptic, but almost as bright as Sirius. “It gives piety, conservatism, a wide and comprehensive knowledge, voyages and educational work, and changes evil to good.”  This may give this decan the fascination with combating evil, and the shadow. Canopus is said to be give great glory and fame on the Midheaven in particular. It was also found to be common in actors and writers who travelled a great deal as part of their work. Canopus and Sirius are so close its quite hard to gauge which effect each one has, but I would give Canopus a much tighter orb that Sirius. See my method for Using Fixed Stars. Cancer decan 2 burns brightly and brings fame, which can sometimes come with a price. For this reason they may instinctively retreat into their shell when they have had enough of the spotlight.

Cancer decan 3 is ruled by the Moon. The Sun shimmers through the Twins, the Unicorn, the Great Bear, the Greater Dog and the Lesser Dog from July 13 to 22. These are the true lunatic Cancerians with the influence of the famous constellation of the twins Castor & Pollux. These twins were rivals, but also inseparable. We are dealing here with polarities; Good and Evil, the living and the dead, left-brain and right-brain, Lunar and Solar. Castor is thought to represent Apollo the sun god. The imagination is very strong here with the ability to capture it and put it into words. People born under the twins make excellent writers. Castor tends towards optimism, looking at the bright side of life and boosting esteem. He makes a great motivator and his skill was training horses. Pollux is the boxer and daredevil. His creative style is to explore the hidden, the shadow and subject matter that is deemed taboo. Pollux relishes in exploring the seedy side of life. Castor is the supposedly “good” twin and was the horse trainer, he holds a harp in his hand so he gives musical talent and artistry. He was refined and civilised, but still got into scrapes with his wilder brother however. The influence of the darkside is never far away, for Robson say although “It gives distinction, a keen intellect, success in law and many travels, fondness for horses, sudden fame and honor”….This great success can often be followed by “loss of fortune and disgrace, sickness, trouble and great affliction. Its natives are said to be mischievous and prone to violence.” I think those with Castor strong just have to be careful about the company they keep. The lunar influence of the decan makes them sensitive to the environment. This is great for psychic ability but it also means they give into peer pressure far too easily. Eric Morse says “ Castor is also noted in natal astrology for proneness to mental breakdowns and neurotic distress. People with this star prominent and well aspected are exceptionally gifted intellectually. Where these geniuses often need help is in not letting their concern for others go ‘over the top’.” [1]

One thing that amuses me about both Castor and Pollux, is that Robson says that they can give an “Evil disposition” (olde astrological term for homosexuality) depending how they are configured. Maybe the Twins “bi-ness” can lead it too experiment. Adara in Canis Major has no interpretations, but in Hebrew it means “adorned, dear, darling, adulation, and adored” This fits well with this decans devoted and faithful nature combined with the dogs reputation for fidelity and faith in its master. Pollux, the immortal twin was a boxer, he holds a club in his hand. Not surprisingly he has a bad reputation “It gives a subtle, crafty, spirited, brave, audacious, cruel and rash nature, a love of boxing, dignified malevolence, and is connected with poisons.”. It is considered extremely Martian. “Just as Mars has it’s good sides if the energy it creates is channelled constructively, so Pollux should not always be considered as unhelpful. The star badly placed could manifest that way, not by the native misusing his energy but by others deceiving him and fate playing him some cruel tricks.” [2]. The Cancerian/Lunar influence can make these people too trusting, but they also have a great skill with words and can tell some whooping lies to save their own skin if they really have to.

Saucy & Giddy

Procyon, like the Twins, has mixed reviews. On the one hand it’s regarded as highly fortunate and then it is seen as crafty and violent. But it seems to be lucky despite its hot temper. It is described as being “petulant, saucy, giddy,” and can be brave but extremely impulsive, rushing into calamity without thinking. These are the real dare-devils, maybe these little dogs think that they are indestructible. Maybe they are, since this star is supposed to give “Wealth, fame, and good fortune.” [3] Procyon is like that annoying, cocky, yappy dog that doesn’t realise it’s not a Doberman. It will skip around a great lanky dog and confuse the hell out of it enough not to get bitten. A high-risk strategy prehaps, but you can’t help admire the little smart arse. Procyon is geek power at it’s very best.

The lesser dog actually rides the constellation of the Unicorn and looks pretty grand in the sky. This helps Cancer Decan 3 gain position by making all the right connections in the right places. “Procyon gives drive and a good sharp mind. Mercury goes retrograde and the traditional advice is “Don’t travel, Don’t sign contracts. Don’t marry. Don’t touch electrics!” But the whole Mercury retrograde cycle actually lasts eight weeks and happens three times, sometimes even four times in a year! That’s a long time to hide under the duvet and a real waste of a truly magical time.

Retrograde Meaning

Mercury generally zips between two worlds, or rather, the two hemispheres of our brain. So during the retrograde period it is like Mercury has gone down into the Underworld. In the realm closer to spirit we become more right-brain orientated. It is dark, so other senses are heightened. We will feel extra sensitive here, psychic even. Everything will seem hyper-real… you will notice things you had overlooked before. This will prompt you to re-evaluate, renovate, re-invent, re-form, and reinvent. It’s true you might have to redo things, because Mercury will hit the same degree three times, but what this transit won’t let you do is to go into autopilot.

There are danger spots though. When Mercury is stationing retrograde we are at the wobbly stage where we are likely to slip-up, make mistakes, and misread another’s communications. But once we are over the threshold and into the Underworld, we can safely go about out business knowing we are in another realm. The same goes for when it is stationing direct – give our brain a few days to adjust back to solar thinking. Whichever houses Mercury retrogrades in, will be your Underworld zone. Here you will question everything. It will make you jittery about signing contracts, because you will be constantly thinking, “Is this what I really want?”. Before the retrograde, is a good time to finish off those Solar left-brain projects and gather information to bring down into your cave at its retrograde point. Then you can slow things down, let yourself be taken into other dimensions, try on different filters, experiment, shine a light on your demons, then recharge and reboot.

Mercury Retrograde June/July 2013

Mercury stations retrograde from June 26 to July 20. It will travel between 13º – 23º Cancer. Mercury enters the shadow on June 10, which means Mercury starts the period aligned with Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. We are into the dog days when we all go mad and hysterical, according to the ancient Romans that is. The shock of the summer sun can jump-start our libido if it has been flagging though. Sirius also can be success that can burn, so this Mercury retrograde period we will look at “burnout” and what we can do to avoid it. The balancing of moods and the right and left sides of the brain is highlighted in the two zones Mercury will be travelling through. Cancer decan 2 are the devoted wolves, moody and with bolt from the blue emotions and the Cancer decan 3 are about polarity, good V evil and feelings that swing between two extremes. The themes of this retrograde period are about balancing the heat and water in our bodies and examining the ebb and tides of our emotions.

Mercury Retrograde Chart

Mercury Retrograde June/July 2013 will be all about the deep blue sea of our feelings and the equanimity of that water grand trine. That’s a pretty huge statement about balance there. The Sun, Saturn Rx and Neptune Rx form a grand trine. Saturn trine Neptune turns dreams into reality. It gives us determination to see that vision carried out. Goals seem destined, but one may need to sacrifice personal pleasures to achieve them. The Sun makes it a grand trine and this is brings Sun trine Neptune into it, which I found to be about imagination and glamour that comes with a price. The trine goes with the flow, so with Neptune it can make one easily suggestible. The willpower is easily swayed by smoke and mirrors with this aspect.

Ordinarily this trine could find it hard to resist escapism, drugs or alcohol, but I think the Sun trine Saturn at the same time will give it the whole pattern great willpower and stamina. What it might show is our will being tested. There is great structure here underpinning the Neptune shimmer though, so this trine has substance. Mercury on the chart is on Pollux the immortal, dark twin, so we will be utilising our shadow in balancing our psyche. He will also be testing our will and do this by triggering who or what really winds us up. Do we secretly actually want to be the person we really hate. Are covering up our envy? What qualities in them are we just too afraid to express in ourselves?

This Mercury Retrograde period I think will be quite beneficial in the long term, but we will have to confront our “Evil twin” first. This will get us to revise and renovate how we build our dreams. It will enable us to find the balance with what we are willing to sacrifice for them. If we have been so obsessed with career goals in the past, but health or quality time spend with the family has suffered, these few weeks are for you. They can be used to finally find a way to balance mind, body and spirit if we do what the trine says and find time to look inward. Trines are about being more than doing. Mercury retrograde is a perfect excuse for just being then, especially if you are one of those electric types who only have to look at something electronic during Merc Rx for it to explode.

Mercury starts off in the shadow zone on June 10. The first star it hits is Sirius which is highly fortunate “Great business success, help through influential people, worries unnecessarily, associated with the Church.” We get this influence on June 11, July 15/16 Rx & July 26. Then Mercury on Castor, the “good” twin, gives “Remarkable psychic powers entailing criticism and ridicule but eventual prominence.” We get this influence on June 18/19, July 5/6 Rx & August 2. Lastly Mercury confronts Pollux the “Evil” twin “Unbalanced mind, unpopular and peculiar occupation, trouble with father through relatives or enemies, domestic disharmony, anxiety, loss through land, property and mines” This shadow is highlighted on June 22/24, June 30 – July 3 Rx & August 3/4. Sirius, Castor and Pollux give us our three landmarks under which we can examine what we are revising. Black Moon Lilith conjunct Jupiter for much of 2013. This only happens every 33 years. In 2013 we have the third and final exact conjunction between 11 – 13 July. Lilith follows Jupiter in a wide conjunction up until the end of the year though so I think 2013 will be a culmination of that which has been brewing for the last 3 years. So what can we expect? Lilith Conjunct Jupiter brings together two apparently opposing forces in western culture. Lilith and Jupiter share sex and religion in common. Jupiter was the insatiable chaser of nymphs while Lilith is also accused of being insatiable. However with Lilith, her apparently greedy sexuality is vilified and seen as destructive somehow. Instead of a congratulatory slap on the back she is labelled a succubus and a nymphomaniac.

The same double standard goes for the religious aspect between them, Lilith’s magical ability is branded as witchcraft, but for Jupiter these powers are just an example of the divine miracle of his godliness. Lilith like Jupiter has a hunger for knowledge and mind expansion, indeed it was this desire for wisdom and the passing on of that sacred knowledge that caused Eve to be booted out of paradise.

Lilith conjunct Jupiter gives an insatiable, ravenous sexual energy but also a real need for those physical relations to be tantric. Sex for Lilith/Jupiter has to bring one in contact with the divine which is similar to Lilith/Neptune. But where Lilith/Neptune is fantasy forming, yearning, unrequited and ultimately celibate, Lilith/Jupiter, has to be very, very physical. So we are talking total body, head-to-toe ecstatic orgasms that blow your mind to kingdom come.

If this aspect is cannot be channelled into sex, then it becomes a very zealous approach to spirituality. They may have an unusual, far-out belief systems that forces them to have to justify their brand of religion. The most obvious religious cause with Lilith would be the advocation of women priests and the ultimate archetype of Lilith/Jupiter of course, a female Pope! I ran a chart for the appointment of the legendary/mythical female Pope Joan. [1] There is not enough evidence for this to be a trustworthy event, but it is interesting that we had a mean/true Lilith sextile Jupiter (60’) for date of the death of her predecessor.

This conjunction is quite rare, to find them within a degree apart we have to go back to 1977 and 1978. I thought it might be interesting to see if there were any relevant news events in those months:
January 1977 - The world’s first personal all-in-one computer is demo-ed in Chicago.
Apple Computers is incorporated.
10 March 1977 - Rings of Uranus discovered.
1 January 1978 -The Copyright Act of 1976
July 25 1978 – The world’s first test tube baby born

What can expect from this conjunction this time? New discoveries and playing god seem to have come up at the last one, plus the expansion of wisdom in the form of information technology. Lilith’s forbidden fruit becomes Apple Computers! I would hope for a greater acceptance of female priests and modernisation of the Catholic Church. Maybe we shall see surface more revelations as to what secrets the Vatican is hiding. The notion that there could have been a female pope is intriguing. The 2009 film “Pope Joan” caused an uproar within the Catholic church [2], I wonder how many women in the dark ages with a thirst for knowledge did in fact disguise themselves as men in order to gain an education and practise their craft in medicine or as philosophers. Were some of the ancient scholars in fact women?

UPDATE! December 2012. Recently the Church Of England voted against women becoming bishops. “No To Women Bishops”. During the wide conjunctions in 2012 we had the whole Jimmy Saville paedophilia scandal. This children’s TV presenter was a Jupiter god in the eyes of the British public, knighted by the Queen and famed for his charity work. It turns out this case has opened a can of worms for more abuse of young girls within the BBC. The taboo sex of Lilith and the abuse of Jupiter God status is very obvious here. This case continues with yet more allegations against high profile media men like Max Clifford. Of course the BBC is a huge, powerful and very Jupiterian corporation also.

Lilith/Jupiter on Alderbaran Yod 2012

The chart for December 12 2012 was very provocative as it came before a new moon which had a Yod pointing to Lilith conjunct Jupiter. Just 06′ from Aldebaran. This star is very much about demonising and Good V Evil since it is opposite Antares in the heart of the scorpion another Archangel star. I think this Yod woke a lot of people up to addressing their shadow. Some of Aldebaran’s key words describe very much the sort of man who would take advantage of impressionable young tween-agers “Lusty, lecherous, smooth-talkers, materialistic, businessmen, winners, indulgent, idolizers”. I think it also made a few people stand up to their Aldebaran bull-ies also.

After this Yod we had the escalation of the scandal at the BBC with more “Lilith’s” coming out of the woodwork. I see more protests about women’s role in the church up until this Summer 2013 when Lilith conjuncts Jupiter for the last time on July 12. As well as the western world, there is also the issue of women’s rights within Islam. I wrote about this in the Sexual Revolution post which talks about the Uranus square Pluto which also continues into next year.

The Conjunctions 2011-2013. Dates when Jupiter and Lilith are exactly conjunct are: 20th of December 2011 – January 3rd 2012. March 11th – 20th 2012, December 11th – 12th 2012 and July 11th-13th 2013. But after that we don’t get it again until 2047!

Lilith conjunct Jupiter Celebrities

We can learn something from the list of those born with this aspect natally. The magic and sexuality is there (Aretha Franklin, Mick Jagger, Shakira,), the blending of the mystic with the physical too (Bruce Lee), scandal (Christine Keeler), baby-killing (Kanesha Berry) and also provocative writing (Erica Jong, Gertrude Stein).

George Van Tassel was a perfect example of the far-out religion aspect of Lilith/Jupiter. He was an American contactee and Ufologist. He claimed to have been transported astrally to an Alien vessel where he was told to put together a construction with the aim to extend the life of human beings so that they could take advantage of wisdom acquired with old age. He called it an Integratron and claimed to be built with Tesla technology. Like many contactees of the 1950’s he formed a paranormal research organisation to share this cosmic knowledge.

Moon opposite Jupiter share protection in common, but where Jupiter is expansive and pioneering, the Moon wants to stay close to the comforts of home. In opposition what this could manifest is someone who travels far and wide, but when they get home they are a total hermit and never go out at all.

The subject can easily make one side of this opposition their shadow; A very flamboyant, elaborately dressed woman might loath a very efficiently, but dourly attired housewife or a dutiful father in a spartan people-carrier may despise a Flash Harry who loves to gamble and drive fancy sports cars. Moon opposite Jupiter can swing between the two extremes; spending their money on luxuries one week and then having to live very frugally the next. Bulimia is also an example of this archetype, feasting, then fasting. Moon is habits, so with Jupiter it can also cause addictions; Too much sex or too much gambling for example.

Jupiter with the Moon has a huge appetite, not just for edible things but also for love, money or success. This person needs to have a lovely home, they see it as an expression of their status. Moon opposite Jupiter may inflate and exaggerate their emotions because somehow they don’t think people will notice them if they don’t. Equally they can feel embarrassed by those who show excess emotions, deriding them as drama queens or attention seekers. However Moon opposite Jupiter can certainly turn on the charm when it wants to and this aspect can make these people extremely popular. Jupiter is extra jovial with the Moon, even in opposition. In fact, the dynamic energy of this aspect can give these folk a rollicking sense of humour. This combination is also very alluring as Jupiter is sexy and hot while the Moon is sensual and sensitive.

Moon quincunx Venus can be ultra sweet and sickly, but the quincunx makes it’s more like sweet and sour. Moon quincunx Venus is greedy for affection and needs tangible expressions of love, but they go about this in an indirect way so that the person they are attempting to extricate this from does not even realize it. Moon/Venus has real difficulty with asking for what it needs in the normal fashion. These people have a kooky charm and usually attractive, but in a striking, eccentric way. Moon quincunx Venus wants everyone to be happy, loving and congenial, but they can be obsessive in their pursuit of fairness and perfection. Because of their perfectionist quirk, these subjects really don’t take criticism well, are extremely sensitive and get far too upset too easily, which draws them into very un-peaceful fights. So this combination can be very paradoxical, for example the “Champagne Socialist” with very refined and expensive tastes, travelling in a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce while declaring they want a fair society where we are all equal.

Moon quincunx Venus looks like witchcraft to me. The unusual combination seems to create harmony where it just shouldn’t do. Never more so when this jazzy quincunx is used to fuse together two cherry pie planets…or are they? If you look at the list below you see an exotic mix of mystics, musicians, leaders, warrior queens and even some with the same surnames. Unusual…the quincunx is eerie like that. Somehow all the celebrities seem  related, again, even though they shouldn’t be! Generally both the Moon and Venus are seen as soft, feminine, harmonious planets. But the Moon has its devouring mother side and Venus was also the Goddess of war in Babylonian times. Moon/Venus can be sickly sweet, but the quincunx spices it up so that it ferments into a resinous potion. We know what happens when sugar turns to alcohol… This then can be a heady concoction.

The quincunx causes creative dissonance, it’s especially effective I think here with Venus’s slant towards harmony and the Moons amazing, intuitive imagination. This aspect can feel it’s way through the most warped and spiky footpaths and come out in one piece. This aspect can veer towards the kinky in relationships due to the mother figure being the chief disciplinary parent in childhood. Women therefore can be held in awe, worshiped and hated at the same time. Aleister Crowley is another example of the paradoxical message given out by this aspect. The Full Moon on June 23 at 2º Capricorn is classed as a super moon. This occurs when the Moon is at its closest position to the earth in a year. When it coincides with a Full Moon, like this one, it will display in the sky as unusually large and bright. Astrologically this Full Moon doesn’t disappoint either, for it forms a fantastic Kite aspect pattern in the sky with the Sun, Black Moon Lilith and Jupiter in a stellium at its tail.

Black Moon Lilith conjunct Jupiter has been on and off since late 2011 and we are moving to its final exact conjunction on July 12. The next 6 weeks will bring Lilith themes to the fore because this conjunction will also be active at the next New Moon, tightening the grand trine with Saturn trine Neptune. We have already seen some of the most negative Lilith themes in the news over the past year. The Delhi Rape Case and the Jimmy Saville Paedophilia Cover Up scandal at the BBC in Britain to name just a couple.

I hope personally that some headway will be made in highlighting the importance of the divine feminine within the collective. This super moon has the potential to awaken us as to how all established world religions cannot bring enlightenment while the female is still regarded as a less spiritual vessel than the male. I have to quote the Dalai Lama on a possible female successor. “If the circumstances are such that a female Dalai Lama is more useful, then automatically a female Dalai Lama will come,” but then goes on to say that if “one female comes then must be very attractive female. So the very reason, you see more influence to others, an ugly female then may not much effective,” Is that a joke or what?

Super Moon!

This Full Moon forms the backbone of the tremendous Kite then and the stars that are being activated are extremely potent. Jupiter & Lilith on Betelgeuse, Neptune on Fomalhaut and Saturn on Gacrux, the April Lunar Eclipse degree. I called that eclipse Spirit Matters; “When you overlay conventional religion on top of the myths and astrology, you can see clearly there is a common theme running through all the myths and religions on earth. Could the Lunar eclipse could bring some unity between religions?” Well, right now the only unity I can see is that all the heads of the established world religions are male. So we have this potent grand water trine. Two, out of the three stars are extremely spiritual and Neptunian. Betelgeuse added makes this a spiritual warrior. Lilith conjunct Jupiter makes this…. Joan Of Arc? Wow.

Ordinarily grand trines can promise much, but fail to deliver; Much depends on the planets involved. But I do have high hopes for this one. Since the Sun, Lilith, Jupiter stellium it such “Oomph”. Full Moons are about relationships, where the Moon Goddess meets receives the Sun Gods rays and they unite in illumination. I love the fact we have the union of opposites here with Saturn and Neptune too. They represent earth and water, the fundamentals of life, Saturn rock solid reality harmonising with Neptune’s trans-dimensional mist. This is an ongoing trine, but the Full Moon should trigger its potential to bring about some sort of inner marriage between the male and the female in all of us. I think this Super Moon has the power to balance right and left-brain. Enlightenment.

Full Moon June 2013 Aspects

The Moon is heavily aspected due it being in the Kite aspect pattern:
Moon opposite Jupiter “has a huge appetite, not just for edible things but also for love, money or success.” It may inflate and exaggerate emotions and also can easily make the opposition its shadow. In this case we almost have a Hades Moon with a wide Moon conjunct Pluto which “is penetrating, provocative and plunges headlong into the dark sea of lunar emotions without fear. They want nothing less than dramatic and intense sexual relationships that profoundly transform their souls.” This is a very female tantric shadow to oppose such a heroic Betel-geused up Sun.

Then we have the sextiles of the Kite. Moon sextile Neptune “takes the fantasy element of Neptune and tries to build a utopia. There is a real element of a budding saviour quality about it. This aspect is in tune with the common peoples hope and dreams. The nurturing side of the moon can take on a transpersonal role in mothering the world.” The saviour of Joan Of Arc comes up strong again here. We have then a strong compassionate and protective female being boosted by Jupiter on Betelgeuse. “great honor in the Church or law.” Moon sextile Saturn gives this even more stamina and force.

Finally we have Moon Opposite Lilith “Because the Moon and the Black Moon are such polar opposites, in an opposition they could actually end up cancelling each other out. A successful balance of these two would mean that the domestic moon can restrain Lilith from going too far off the rails and lusty Lilith could break some of the moons stagnating habits.” Putting this all together, I think we have a great opportunity for some spiritual levelling out. Saturn tempers Neptune, Lilith tempers the Moon and finally Sun/Jupiter tempers Moon/Pluto. All this in a grand water trine and a Super Moon to boot. Does the super moon have any extra astrological potency? We shall have to see, but I just think it’s very apt that the physical reality of this Moon is complimented by the astrological symbolism of super giants Betelgeuse and Jupiter.

This Super Moon may feel as strong as an eclipse, but with the energy concentrated over two weeks. We shall have to keep an eye on the news and see what stories come out. Unlike an eclipse though, it doesn’t give us anything to be afraid of. It might make people behave even more “loony” than your average Full Moon however. I think emotionally we may feel very euphoric, even blissful and be subject to a little midsummer madness. I also think intuition will be super high, but the grounding of Saturn will prevent us feeling overwhelmed, ultra-sensitive and invaded. This is then an ideal opportunity then to practise manifestation rituals, healing and magic. If you are a creative then the muses will be out in full force. Some profound and beautiful poetry will be written over these two weeks. Be sure to go out at stare at this wondrous Moon and if you are daring enough, go sky clad. Ofcourse it will all be intensely romantic. Enjoy!

Pure grand trine energy is about harmony and ease, the line of least resistance. Trine people have a real charm about them, seductive and languid, like falling back onto a giant, pluffy, triangular marshmallow.

However the grand trine could easily also be the most over-rated aspect pattern of all. It all depends very much on the state of the rest of the chart and also the planets involved in a grand trine.

If the trine should contain some powerful stars this will make it less likely to disappoint and give it some real power. Sugar-coated describes the trine quite well, transits can pass us by quite easily because we didn’t notice the medicine going down. To make the best use of them is to probably to break some bad news on a trine transit. It will go down better. But they don’t cause any good luck by itself, we still have to make it happen.

So what do we make of someone with a grand trine in their chart.  First of all trines do not spell out instant fame and success or even necessarily great talent. They show three planets who are passing energy around each other in an easy,  unquestioning way. The energy goes round and round without interruption, ad nauseam….Hence the reputation of tines being lazy. For this uninterrupted current can get quite trance-like, comforting and euphoric.

The trine is rather like a massage, soothing out all those knots in your back. Sooooothing, very soothing, until your whole body becomes like jelly. It can get hypnotic. So the danger with grand trines is that they can become complacent, they don’t really have much will or drive inside them. What makes a grand trine really fly is when it contains an opposition inside it, giving it some back bone. This is known as a Kite which I will talk about in another post. A person with a grand trine may actually have chosen to incarnate and just be. This is the person to exude calm and harmony over fraught situations. They don’t want to shake things up, trines like to make you a cup of tea and say “There, there” They are happy being the sofa everyone snuggles on at the end of a hard day and there is nothing wrong with that.

Grand Water Trine 2013

In between the tough and crusty bread of eclipses in 2013 we get some creamy trines, which will give us a respite from all the exorcising, soul bending yoga and crucifix bearing. We ease into them with Saturn Trine Neptune. It promises to turn your dreams into reality. BUT as Jamie wrote; “this does not necessarily mean the most ideal manifestations…. If your dream is slaughter and mayhem, then this transit should work just as well for you, as it would if your dream is to start an organic community garden in your neighbourhood.”   A joyful, wishful June 11 and July 19 then, especially Decan 1 water signs and to a lesser extent Decan 1 earth signs.

The highlight of the year is a magical grand water trine on July 17. Planning a wedding? This is the day.  It will be wonderfully romantic and  Saturn will help crystallise wishes. But keep in mind trines are about being not doing, so don’t waste this golden opportunity by blissing out too much. In the mundane world, Jupiter trine Neptune brings social justice and the urge to show compassion in sensitive human rights cases.  Our sheer faith in future rainbows will keep us focused on doing whatever it takes to get to the pot of gold. Looks great doesn’t it? Lets hope Saturn makes sure Jupiter keeps his promises.

There is understanding between different cultures and the ability to think philosophically. We have spellbinding Lilith conjunct Jupiter as part of the trine, which is good for women and their influence in both conventional and “New Age” type religions. Lucky decan 1 water signs get energised the most by the huge optimism generated here and can help motivate the rest of us. But anyone with a personal planet or angle between 2º- 6º should benefit greatly from this as well, even by square or opposition since you will get a balancing or karmic adjustment from another part of that grand trine. So great all round for mind expansion and spiritual bliss. A nice change from self flagellation then..

Healing Trines

Grand trines used at a high vibration can be incredible healers. On the negative side, a grand trine in the chart might indicate a person who takes the easy path and gets away with things. That could by why the trine has a lucky reputation. The native may just attract good luck, things fall into their hands without them even trying. The problem I think is that of not appreciating either the gifts they have or the good luck because they have not actually worked for it. Again this is why they are sometimes ignored; it’s just too easy.

Trine people may trigger anger from others because they appear to not even recognise or enjoy their good fortune. This can infuriate a square person who would give anything for the good looks, inheritance or freebies the trine person has had thrown at them. They can also attract jealousy also for the same reason.

There is no question that a grand trine can be a wonderful talent that can be used beneficially once it is recognized. The key is making the most of the three planets contained therein and remember to snap them out of their trance once in a while. The fire/assertive planets are less likely to zone out however, so a Jupiter/Mars/Sun trine is more likely to be a high achiever than a Moon/Neptune/Venus.

The New Moon on July 8 2013 is at 16º Cancer, on Sirius the brightest star in the sky. The Moon is conjunct Mercury. We still have the effect of the Cosmic Mind Bending Grand Trine that was being activated at the Full Moon June. This Moon does not aspect it in anyway, but it does bring back the dog symbolism from that last Moon. The section of the Zodiac that this Moon is triggering is Cancer decan 2. These are the devoted wolves.

Because Sirius resides here, this period is known as the “Dog Days”. The Moon is especially strong here, of course because it rules tropical Cancer anyhow. So take this fluffy wolf, then throw in Mercury the trickster and dark twin Pollux and you get a very intriguing breed of Cancerian indeed. In myth, Mercury conversed between the gods and the underworld, he is a bridge and mediator between the two. There is a feel of a guide here, a light in the inky black night. Dogs can guide the blind just as the stars guided the ships. Jamie Partridge found that Wasat in the twins can be a peace maker and bridge builder even though it has some negative associations.

New Moon July Horoscope

The archetype that is being stimulated here is that of Isis. Sirius is supposed to represent Isis in the heavens and sometimes she is depicted as Orion’s faithful hunting dog. Isis devoted herself to piecing back together her beloved Osiris. The Full Moon conjunct Mercury can be about painstaking and methodically assembling things together. Mending things with skill and craft in the home is being stimulated with this New Moon. Think of weaving and crotchet and spinning the wheel of fate. The grand trine brings together skills and talents in the domain of homemaking and cooking. Comfortable and ambient surroundings allow spiritual awakening to happen, like a health Spa or a sanctuary. But this inner sanctum can be our own home. With these “Dog Days” there maybe madness and mayhem on the streets, but we can always withdraw into the safety of our Cancer cave. Here in peace, we can concoct our spells like Isis. In the security of our cavern, and with the help of the Lilith conjunct Jupiter arm of the trine, we can make magic happen.

Saturn the lord of karma and time will go direct on the day of the New Moon July 8. It will remain in the shadow zone until October 13 this year. Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius and Taurus decans 1 will have felt and continue to feel this karmic time-travelling the most.

Saturn has been retrograde since February 18 2013, things that may have got stuck in that time can slowly begin to move forward now. Jamie Partridge wrote about this period in Saturn Retrograde – Double Karma. Both karma and Saturn teach us lessons about paying our dues and balancing the books. Whatever was seeded between mid November 2012 and mid February is about to slowly bloom between now and October. The full consequences of our actions should be apparent by the November 3 Solar Eclipse.

Saturn has a bad reputation because he makes us face the consequences of our actions. So if we have been slacking then he will make us work twice as hard to catch up. If you have been a workaholic he may actually give you an illness in order to get you to slow down. It’s not all bad however. Once you have passed Saturn’s endurance test, he will be there to support your aching back and deliver your rewards. You can at least rely on him to come up with the goods, even if he doesn’t make such a big song or dance about it (Like Jupiter would…) What Saturn does present you with, is something solid and classic. Something that will last way after Jupiters champagne bubbles have burst.

Saturn Retrograde Scorpio

15 November 2012 Saturn enters the retrograde zone at 4 Scorpio.
18 February 2013 Saturn stations retrograde at 11 Scorpio.
8 July 2013 Saturn stations direct at 4 Scorpio.
14 October 2013 Saturn leaves the retrograde zone at 11 Scorpio.

Unlike Mercury Retrograde, an outer planet retrograde covers a much more concentrated area of ones chart. This Saturn retrograde cycle is notable because it stations over TWO eclipse degrees. So Saturn links the recent April Lunar eclipse on Gacrux (in the constellation of the Southern cross.) with the coming November Solar Eclipse on Mimosa another star in this Crucifix. As I said in my 2013 Astrology Forecast, the degrees of 5º – 13º Scorpio are a real hot-spot.

As you can see, it’s quite amazing that Saturn commences it’s journey on the April eclipse degree in Scorpio decan 1 and ends it on the November eclipse degree. There is definitely something karmic afoot.. If we look back at the April 25 Lunar Eclipse we can see how relevant it is to the whole story of this Saturn retrograde. I wrote “The Moon is conjunct Saturn, which to me signifies mother as matter. Maat was the Egyptian goddess who regulated the seasons, universal law and the actions of humans by weighing their good deeds against their bad. The cross represents her balancing scales and also the horizon point on the horoscope, the Ascendant/descendant axis. Here equilibrium is attained twice a year at the sacred spring and autumn equinoxes when we have equal day and night hours.” This is the balancing of karma, and eye for an eye…It’s payback time folks.

Grand Water Trine

Saturn has also been very active in all the major aspect patterns this year so far. We have already had Saturn sextile Pluto and just recently Saturn trine Neptune as part of that “Dreams-come-true” Grand Water Trine on June 11. It was between the Sun, Saturn and Neptune. This was a healing, internalised trine as it occurred during Mercury Retrograde and Saturn was still retrograde. Some said it was a bit of a dud, but it was just waiting…

We get a super-charged trine from July 17 – 22. Lilith, Mars and Jupiter will take the place of the Sun in the June trine and on July 22 Mars conjunct Jupiter will be exact. This should put a rocket up the arse of any languid Fomalhaut poets floating around the Neptune corner of the trine. Saturn nails these two arms together on our crucifix star Gacrux. Just to remind us of the significance of this constellation “Crux is said to give perseverance, but many burdens, trials and responsibilities, together with much suffering and many hardships.” The determination to see things through until the bitter end is what shines through here. Mars conjunct Jupiter gives this trine the muscle to bring something worthwhile into form.

Saturn & Constellation Crux

It seems we have to suffer for our art here. But by the end of our voyage on October 13 Saturn will have moved onto star Mimosa in Crux, which has a more positive interpretation “Inventive mind, intuition and wisdom, a grasp for the inner nature of one’s fellow man. The gift of successful investigation of the hidden side of things. A deeply religious nature connected with mystical and theosophical interests.” This star is said to give psychic ability. Shamans do not qualify until they have had some sort of near death experience, being crucified by Saturn may feel like that for some of us this year. Only those who are willing to put their head on the block then, will get this trines booty.

For the Egyptians, the sun died on September 23, the Autumn (or Spring in the Southern hemisphere) Equinox. The two hemispheres of the brain are also equal and balanced as day and night are of equal length. Then the nights start to get longer as the Sun “dies” for us in the Northern hemisphere. On September 23 Saturn is conjunct the North Node sextile Pluto square Uranus. In order for humanity to move forward and evolve a part of us must die. Pluto is resurrection. We are also approaching the end of the May Solar Eclipse cycle too where we may get what I call the “mop up” effect. The eclipse’s dilemma was “that it is easily seduced by finery and status. Saturn Rx all on it’s own in Scorpio assists in making sure this eclipse does the right and decent thing rather than becoming self-righteous, snobbish and fixated on achieving high status just to “keep up with the Jones’s.”

Time Lord

Saturn comes to the end of the shadow period still holding onto that learning triangle with Uranus square Pluto. After that it is free from karmic ties and treading fresh ground. This is exciting for Saturn. The Timelord is free to hop back into his Tardis and move independently. He has returned his karmic baggage back to the past, leaving him free to travel light into the future. On November 1 we have the final Uranus square Pluto for 2013, not to return until April 2014. We can recharge our batteries and rest on our laurels for a while at least. Saturn is still within orb of a potent aspect pattern known as the Model in Ecoteric astrology [1], which is in effect for the November 3 Solar Eclipse too. The aspect pattern comprises both a Yod and a minor grand trine, bonded by a square. This is a prototype of things to come. The Model is a great example of the hermetic rule “As in the great, so in the small”

Between 1 – 3 November Saturn shows us a glimpse of something much larger brewing in the collective. This Model aspect will give us a greater understanding of the finished product when it does arrive. We shall see what this might be when I have written the post on the November Solar Eclipse, so stay tuned. In the meantime look to your birthcharts to see where Saturn has been teaching you some hard lessons in getting real, but also where you have been getting some of his support and status. Jupiter usually comes to mind when we think of awards and distinction, but Saturn gives us lasting gravitas, respect and the ability to support ourselves. By the end of this Saturn retrograde cycle we may feel like we have aged 10 years… But we will have gained great wisdom and for the more adolescent among us, finally grown up!

Scorpio decan 1 is ruled by Mars. The Sun drives through the constellations of the Herdsman, the Ship, the Virgin, the Cross and the Crown from October 23 – November 1. Scorpio is probably the sign that is most type-cast as the baddie, so it’s not surprising that the decan ruled by the planet of war does indeed contain a few “malefics”. This decan is a sharp weapon, but it doesn’t mean that it will always harm. The only sharp instrument here is actually the spear shaft as none of sidereal Scorpio actually falls here.

The dark edge to this decan comes from carrying the weight of the crucifix. What I believe this represents is one having to bear the responsibility of psychic or prophetic ability. The constellation of Crux is listed as having an ability for divination and two of Scorpio decan 1′s stars reside here. Being able to tap into other dimensions gives one power that can be used for good or ill. With Scorpio decan 1, it’s either black magic or white magic. They don’t do grey..

The typical Scorpio animal magnetism comes from its ruler, sexy Mars and Bootes the herdsman being a swarthy fellow, working close to the earth and driving those beasts forward. These folk are certainly very driven, but they glide to the top quite silently. Nobody notices them until suddenly, bam, they are there, right at the top. This gives them an advantage over their rivals because they are often underestimated at first. Scorpio decan 1 are the perfect invisible man, they make a great classic Scorpio spy because of their amazing ability to construct a psychic cloaking device. So even though some of them really do have “fatal” written all over them, they seem to be able to convince otherwise. Spin-doctors and propagandists do well here too.

Scorpio decan 1 are made of “true grit”, they often risk life and limb for a cause they believe in. They also make excellent interrogators, relentlessly probing until they get an answer. If they do happen to fall on the other side, they can withstand a great deal of torture before they open their mouths. These folk really can take being stretched to the limit. Somehow their deep faith in whatever they believe in gets them through the most horrendous suffering.

The first star we meet here is Miaplacidus, it has no interpretation but Robson says of the constellation Argo.“Is said to give prosperity in trade and voyages, and strength of mind” The star is in the Keel, which holds the whole ship together like a spine and is build first.  These people are sturdy and robust. This star used to be the alpha star of defunct constellation Robur Carolinum. (Charles’ Oak, a tree famous for hiding Charles II after he lost a battle) Oaks are known for being strong and resilient. The fact that Charles took refuge in one, supports Scorpio decan 1’s ability to conceal and then resurrect what seemed lost. This blends well with the occult spiritual wisdom that comes from the influence of the prophetic stars too.

Princeps sits in the spear-shaft of Bootes, it was sometimes depicted as a club. Bootes the herdsman would use this to discipline his beasts. Scorpio decan 1 do have great stamina and self-control despite the fiery Mars rulership. This late on in the zodiac, the fire is beginning to be harnessed. The only problem with Scorpio Decan 1 that they can be overly zealous in disciplining others. If they are not careful this can spill over into abuse. If we think of the influence of Crux here we can see torture and punishment can fall into this decan quite easily. It can of course be self-harm too. Princeps though, brings the willpower to keep working and not surprisingly “gives a keen studious and profound mind with the ability for research.” 

Next we come to a bit of skirt after all this stoic, butch stuff. Syrma is found in the hem of Virgo’s dress. This star is said to feature in the charts of Moses and Mohammed and is considered the most fortunate of the Arabic mansions. I think it’s appropriate too that these religious heavyweights reside next to stars in the crucifix and definitely supports the importance of spiritual practice in this sector. The skirt can refer to the vestments of priests and monks I think too as a “means to cover, to protect and to suppress. The significance of this star and title lies firstly in the heavy personal responsibility, which is implicit in the occult questing and acquisition of spiritual power seen in Khambalia (At 6º Virgo)”

Agony & Ecstasy

There is no getting away from spiritual power here. It has also occurred to me that here we have the Virgin and the Shepherd (Herdsman) which of course is Christianity’s Mary and Joseph. The parents of Jesus who died on the cross… So here we are at Gacrux, which sits at the top of the Southern Cross. In ancient times this constellation was once seen in the northern hemisphere from Egypt, but due to precession it has “slipped” into the southern. The constellations insignia is used greatly in Australia, New Zealand and in South America on flags, stamps and such like. Crux is the smallest constellation in the sky, but really stands out in the south. It’s brilliance and symbolism was reassuring to the Christian pioneers as they sailed into unfamiliar waters.

Gacrux is not the brightest star in the constellation, but it glows a powerful red to echo Scorpio decan 1’s Martian flavour. I think this side of Crux emphasises the bloody wound and sacrifice of Christ on the cross. “No doubt the European explorers saw the sign of the cross in the sky as a potent symbol of blessing for their endeavours to bring Christianity to new lands; but their exploits were never easy and others have pointed to the constellation as expressing a danger of wounds or accidents, or of ‘the cross’ being symbolic of heavy responsibilities and suffering, such as that which Christ endured in the crucifixion.” The last two stars are in the Northern Crown which was said to be Ariade’s wedding garland given to her by Venus on her wedding to wine god Dionysos. “It is said to give artistic ability, love of flowers, lassitude and disillusionment, but to bring its natives to a position of command.” 

There seems to be a mix of real beauty next to real horror in this decan. It’s bitter-sweet, like a crown…of thorns! Pleasure feels so much more exquisite in this decan if pain has come before it. “ The crown has associations with both liberty and also slavery “in ancient times slaves taken by right of conquest were sold wearing garlands, and hence were said to be sold ‘under a crown.’” I’m now thinking sex slaves… then I find Diana K Rosenberg says that 9º-10º Scorpio are “Nonconformists with a bit of the wild and freaky in their natures, they may be obsessed with sex, and/or be drawn to sadism, fetishes, dominance, and the equation of pleasure and pain.” [1].Look at all the S & M in Christianity, in it’s icons: St Sebastian, St Teresa…the agony and the ecstasy, self-flagellations, need I say more.

Jupiter in trine or sextile aspect to Uranus has such a natural exuberance and zest for life that it attracts luck and positive energy constantly. The Full Moon on July 22 2013 is at 00º Aquarius on Altair in the Eagle. This is a brave and bold Full Moon searing through the middle of the ongoing grand trine in the sky. This is part three of the Joan of Arc story we had triggered at the  June Super Moon. The story is similar here, Lilith conjunct Jupiter are the power players once more, but the warrior Mars is there to boost them. Put Mars with Jupiter and you get a great military commander, add Lilith….and we get a collage of Eris.

The outer planet Dark Goddess can be a trickster and this powerful stellium on Tejat Posterior in the Gemini twins switches from dark to light. Do not make the mistake of thinking this part of Cancer is a Marshmallow Mummy either. Oh no… these are the extremely opinionated persuaders I wrote about in Cancer decan 1 “It’s impossible to put a muzzle on them. Try to gag them and watch out for a rabid fit and disagree with them if you want to see them roll out the whites of their eyes.” Expect to see some barking mad protests.

Full Moon Horoscope

The Moon quincunx Venus has spikes in its fragrant bouquet, it “wants everyone to be happy, loving and congenial, but they can be obsessive in their pursuit of fairness and perfection.” The Full Moon wrapping could easily contain a bouquet of barbed wire though, “Generally both the Moon and Venus are seen as soft, feminine, harmonious planets. However, the Moon has its devouring mother side and Venus was also the Goddess of war in Babylonian times. Moon/Venus can be sickly sweet, but the quincunx spices it up so that it ferments into a resinous potion. We know what happens when sugar turns to alcohol…. this then, can be a heady concoction.”

When you look at the chart, you see this lovely dream, a blue harmonious triangular vision. Saturn trine Neptune promises to turn the dream into reality, and then someone shoots an arrow into it, shattering the mirage and it’s grand illusion. This looks like some very disappointed females lashing out, even Ceres is squared the nodes. Maybe they were promised something huge (Jupiter trine Neptune) that wasn’t delivered. The Moon itself is on a smashing star, so all is not lost. Altair “ is somewhat heroic, but not in a brash Martian way. It is more refined, like a chivalrous knight. I’m thinking 3 parts Sir Galahad to one part Sir Lancalot. In a woman this would be a Joan of Arc rather than a Boudecca.” There’s that Joan Of Arc archetype again… But closer to the Moon is actually a smaller star, Sagitta the arrow. It is a weapon that is fired from a distance and Altair’s eagle too observes from a great height, swooping down onto its prey only at the very last minute.

White Elephants

This could work in two ways since the twins tend to give us a choice of two different fates with that stellium in Cancer decan 1. Scenario 1; A noble knight will grandly sweep onto the stage at the 11th hour and rescue the trine from being just one big fat white elephant. Or scenario 2; A big hyped-up promise, event or politician will be denounced as a sham. (The moon is actually closest to the star called Sham in Sagitta) This Full Moon could be a blade of truth piercing through a tissue of lies where the puffed-up charlatan deflates into a pathetically sad heap on the floor. Leo, Virgo and Aquarius decan 1 are likely to be the arrow shooters, Cancer decan 1 the accomplices, holding down the trine so the shooters can take aim. And Scorpio and Pisces….? Make sure you don’t promise more than you can deliver!

Leo decan 1 is ruled by Saturn. The sun shimmers through the constellations of the Great Bear, the Crab and the Great Ship from July 23 to August 1. This section of the zodiac contains most of Sidereal Cancer, known as the Gate Of Man, where souls entered into incarnation. Directly opposite in Capricorn is where we find the Gate of Souls where the man leaves his physical body. In the heart of Cancer we find the beehive cluster of stars, which do resemble a little star nursery. This is an industrious zone though, and with Saturn ruling this decan we find a strong work ethic, family pride and a dutiful spirit.

Leo decan 1 are extremely dedicated to their field of endeavor. Some may pursue a career for the sole reason of achieving high status. They need to be seen as the boss, the leader of the pack or the queen bee. They do not like to play the role of the underling. However they will doff their hat and play the loyal servant if they have to, anything to get up the ladder. Watch your back though Caesar, these folk are trying on your crown when you are not looking. The biggest problem for this decan is coveting what others have and greed.

Leo decan 1 can be overly defensive. If threatened, the Cancer shell can harden into Saturn armour. This is when the famous Leo pride only intensifies their resolve never to show their vulnerable soft core. Encased in that hard skull though is an incredible brain. The Egyptians saw the crab as their sacred scarab beetle. If you look at it from above it resembles a brain, and represents the path to enlightenment in balancing the right and left hemispheres. Leo decan one have equal amounts of logic and intuition and they use this to create practical objects that are also beautiful. Everything they create is built to last and has a solid foundation and their craftsmanship is second to none.

With this brain-balancing ability these Lions also have the ability to teach others meditation and other mind-harnessing techniques. They can also be fascinated by psychology. Sometimes their logic takes over and they can be skeptics. However their wonderful intuition is a great back-up when science cannot explain it for them. This is because they have a hotline to the wisdom of their ancestors through the star cluster in the heart of Cancer. The pineal gland in the Scarab “brain” maybe? Leo in general is supposed to have prophetic ability and I think this comes from this past/future connection. Bringing up the new generation and leaving a legacy to them is hugely important to Leo decan 1. They are very proud of their roots and ancestry. Feeling part of a continuum in history and preserving family traditions and talents seem to be a theme with this decan.

Talitha in the bear means “daughter of the assembly”. Robson gives no meaning for it, but it is associated with a bible story where Jesus is called to revive a dying girl. Jesus says “Talitha arise”. So this star can bring healing and compassion along with Ursa Minor’s other protective, nurturing traits. This side of Leo decan 1 is less obvious, as mostly the natives of sidereal Cancer are keen merchants and not seen in the soft, maternal Lunar light as they are today in tropical Cancer. Al Tarf resides in the Crabs foot. Manilus says of this constellation gives “skill in making profits; he enables a man to carry his investment of foreign merchandise from city to city and, …to search out under foreign skies fresh sources of gain, and from the high price of his goods to amass sudden wealth.…His is a shrewd nature, and he is ready to fight for his profits.” [1]

Al Tarf is sometimes translated as the Glance of the Lions eye, for the Arabs constellation Leo was much larger and comprised of gifted Spica in Virgo and even some of Gemini. One can imagine that “glance of a Lion” could easily overpower a business rival. Azmidiske is found in the stern of Argo. This great ship is “said to give prosperity in trade and voyages, and strength of mind and spirit.” The Puppis is the stern at the back of the ship where in antiquity you would find gorgeous elaborate woodwork. Leo decan 1 have a great appreciation for beauty and the arts. The Latin word Puppis means “a doll or small image, the Romans and other ancient seafaring peoples had a small sacred idol or image affixed to the stern, where the deity it represented could watch over the vessel”  Often these protectors were beasts and frequently they were indeed depicted as Lions. Of course it is common to see lion statues grace the gateways to the houses of the nouveau riche. We are definitely getting a strong protective lioness theme here. The Great mother bear of Ursa Major symbolizes quiet, female strength that only turns violent if she has to defend her cubs.

Beehive Star Cluster

The stars of the constellation of Cancer are all quite dim, but the star cluster Praesaepe in the heart of the crab, M44, is a striking feature. It is known as the Beehive Cluster because it contains a swarm of forty-plus stars which are visible to the naked eye as a dust cloud. Praesaepe also means crib, stable or enclosure, and indeed surrounding this cluster are two donkeys. The stars Asellus Borealis and Asellus Australis guard the beehive crib. “ This might be the origin, as seen in nativity pictures of the birth of Christ, of the positioning of a donkey always behind the manger” [2.] Since this constellation of is thought to be the gate of men, this interpretation it being the crib and birthplace of Christ is entirely appropriate.

There are some incredibly negative interpretations for this sacred birthing place however. Early 20th century astrologers seem to focus on the grasping, shifty, sideways gate of the Crab and the fact it is a mere animal. And as usual anything with a spiritual connection seems to bring in addiction problems too; Ebertin says of the crustacean “One can observe a craving for and abuse of stimulants, luxury foodstuffs, narcotic, drugs and heavy smoking.”  While Robson maintains Praesaepe “causes disease, disgrace, adventure, insolence, wantonness, brutality, blindness” But he doesn’t forget the busy beehive connection, so he then adds it gives “ industry, order and fecundity; and makes its natives fortunate though liable to loss through others, and the founders of large businesses.” Robson brands anyone with the Sun Praesaepe as having an “Evil disposition (used to be a term in astrology for homosexuality), murderer or murdered, blows, stabs (operations nowadays for blows, stabs, wounds), serious accidents, shooting, execution, banishment, imprisonment…..” Also for Praesaepe rising “Blindness, injuries to the face, sickness, violent fevers, wounds in face and arms, stabs, violent lust, imprisonment, exile….” Oh dear. Violent lust? One could say this may be the case for Aleister Crowley who had it rising by 17′.

Stately Elevators

Since Praesaepe is a nebulae then we must give it a very tight orb and remember there is always a high vibration alternative. Blindness of the Nebulae and clusters can also be inner vision and the ability to “see” into other dimensions. Remember in ancient times this “Blindness” could be short-sightedness. Which would’ve been a real handicap before the invention of glasses. Here is an interesting interpretation for both the beehive and the asses from Ebertin; “the Chinese gave this group of stars in Cancer the name “the spirit of the ancestors” and were of the opinion that if conjunct the Moon they would have peculiar experiences with the realms of the dead.” [3]

Leo decan 1 has prophetic ability because they have an unusually strong connection with their ancestors and recently passed relatives. They may even travel with an entourage of spirit guides which means their lives could feel very fated. These Lions may have near-death experiences or be guided away from a fatal situation just in the nick of time. This gives them the famous Lions courage. They may feel like they are the proverbial cat with 9 lives and be quite fearless because if this. Some may even make a career from the connection to their guardian angels. A good example of Praesaepe in action is an astrologer. They deal with birthcharts, very appropriate for the Gate Of Men birth place and the symbolism of the nativity scene.

At first glance this Saturn ruled decan of Leo may seem quite unassuming since it is not filled many large or famous stars. Leo decan 1 has an stately, serene power due to its connection with Christ consciousness. You can see it in the quality of some of the famous people below. There are some great seers. This section can be very materialistic, but once its subjects have achieved high status and wealth, their motivation to elevate becomes more spiritual.

Leo decan 2 is ruled by Jupiter. The sun blazes through the lynx, the watersnake, the lion’s mouth, the great bear, the crab and the great ship from August 3 – 12.

You can see straight away that these are a different breed of cat from the sedate and Saturnian Leo decan 1. Jupiter gives it more fire and the influence of the defensive crab is replaced by the overtly passionate water-snake. We also have less of the religious influence too. The energy is primal, spontaneous and uncensored. This does not mean these people aren’t spiritual, it’s just that they don’t like bowing down to a Guru, or following established paths to enlightenment. These pioneers will always prefer the road less traveled.

Jupiter ruling here will of course exaggerate their bad traits as well as their good. And let’s face it, with a big cat, these traits are going to be extreme one way or the other. Leo is known as the dramatic sign, so here we will certainly get full-blown theatrics. These folk, are typically mouthy. So they are outspoken, fearless in their reasoning and dive into debates with gusto. Combining Zeus with the Lion King and you get someone who relishes power and very happy to give orders. Of course they will be accused of being bossy, but at the same time they are wonderful at organizing, when most people can’t be bothered. You can always rely them to cut the crap out of  the chaos, while other signs may just faff-about politely, not wanting to appear rude. Leo decan 2 does tough love extraordinarily well, but sometimes make enemies because of this. The roaring mouth of the lion does not sugarcoat, and you may be left with an embarrassing love-bite if you been fool enough to put your delicate neck within mauling distance.

Healthy Egos

These golden maned lions have the healthiest egos in the Zodiac. But of course there’s always the risk of excess. Their pride can go to their heads, the crown becomes gigantic, and the weight finally causes them to topple from their lofty position. This usually comes from their greed, they have a ferocious appetite and sometimes just don’t know when to stop. Eventually just like King Midas, some of them do learn their lesson. With Leo decan 2, they either become super-obsessed with riches, status and being at the helm of a powerful dynasty or they go totally the other way. Hence they can really despise the upper-classes and overt displays of wealth. Some become committed socialists while others just renounce materialism and end up living a very frugal life. Snobbery in all its forms is very apparent, be it intellectual, inverted, or just a plain aversion to low-class living. This status-obsession demon, maybe the biggest dragon they have to slay.

Leo decan 2 maybe attracted to spiritual practices that help them avoid attachment, whether it is to people or material objects. They can go through phases of feast or famine; even literally through their intake of food, drunk or drugs. Leo decan 2 can never be accused of being mean even in their famine stage. They throw the most lavish parties, give generously to charity and pamper their loved ones. It can be tough getting these lions to invest in your business, as they are great hagglers. However they have an unlimited budget when it comes to their own kids, who will be spoilt rotten. Leo decan 2 must watch out that their offspring don’t just become an extension of their empire, ie; the money that they lavish onto them is for something that the children themselves want, and not just because they have to blend in with the rest of their gilt-edged family.

Zeta and Epsilon Hydra are the brightest two of the four Hydra stars that fall into this decan. The slippery serpent Robson says “is said to give an emotional and passionate nature, threatened by great troubles.”  This water serpent had nine heads “Hercules found that if he cut off one of the heads, two new heads grew back: hence some evils are spoken of as “many headed hydras”.” The only way to stop the heads re-growing, was to burn them at the stump. So “The expression “hydra-headed” refers to a weed or trouble that is very difficult to get rid of.”  You can see that this adds to the great drama, magnification and the tenaciousness of Leo decan 2. In their life there will be many battles with this Hydra within and without. Leo’s great courage and resilience may have formed as a result of these battles over time.

The Lynx is practically invisible as a constellation. Legend has it that this cat was originally King Lyncus who was turned into a bobcat by Ceres because “he refused to teach the arts of agriculture to his people” It seems the arrogant King was rather jealous of the grain goddess’s power over nature, so he killed her greatest and most respected farmer. Lynx are associated with great sight and luminous eyes. Well you would need great sight to see this constellation, as it is so faint. This was King Lyncus punishment, not being able to shine. Lynx are also loners too.

Kochab is bright red star located in baby bear, Ursa Minor who graces the sky next to his mother Ursa Major. Both constellations hang onto the poles by their long stretched out tails. Ursa Minor is Arcas, son of Jupiter, yet another animal-baby as a result of Jupiter’s impropriety with his mother Callisto. Both were turned into bears, and placed in the heavens to protect them from the wrath of Jupiter’s wife Juno. To add to the soap opera, some say Ursa minor is Cynosura, the nymph who actually raised Jupiter.. In the end we are not sure if Ursa Minor is Jupiter’s mother or son. Huh?! It’s not surprising then the poor, confused little pup “ is said to give indifference and improvidence of spirit, and to lead to many troubles.”

Revenge

Hercules, and Juno are referenced again through Acubens in constellation Cancer. Juno rewarded the crab with a place in the heavens for biting Hercules foot while he attempted to slay the Hydra. There seems to be a vengeful theme coming up in this decan. The Lion can bite back extremely hard if it feels it has been disrespected. Acubens seems to support this. At it’s very worse this star “gives activity, malevolence and poison, making its natives liars and criminals.” Eric Morse shows it better side “a generally more positive quality to read from Acubens, is that of a sharp intellect and ease of coming to grips with problems, for which one might earn public renown. But, again there is the note of doing this under pressure of others demanding ‘from behind’.”

Dubhe and Merak are famous for being the Alpha and Beta stars in the Great Bear, Ursa Major. They are is easily seen in the sky as the front two stars of the Big Dipper, or the Plough that are contained within the body of the Bear. Robson sees Dubhe as “destructive” and says Merak can love “command and domination”. 1st century Astrologer Manilus shows how these qualities in a positive light and I don’t believe the energy is always destructive. Rather it tames those that could be destructive; “he will dispel the fury of the tiger, training it to become a peaceful animal, whilst all the other beasts which molest the earth with their savageness he will join in friendship to himself ”. Looks like someone who can tame problem children and civilise those who are usually wild and unruly. Here we find Leo’s guiding, leadership qualities, since the bears are so close to the celestial pole. “motionless itself, it yet sees everything spinning about it. The top of the axis is occupied by constellations well known to hapless mariners, guiding them over the measureless deep in their search for gain.” 

Patient Lion Tamers

Bernadette Brady says the constellation Ursa Major gives “Insight, persistence, endurance and passive strength….It is the strength of patience, and the use of time to calmly solve problems rather than to take dynamic action” [1]. There can be the odd situation then where the fiery Leo histrionics happen all around the subject. Yet there they are, doing their motionless polestar thing in the centre, not a hair blown out of place. In the end this Leo decan 2’s eerie calmness freaks others out so much, that they finally stop their commotion. Alterf in the Lions open mouth makes me think of the strength card in the tarot where the female holds open the jaws of the lion, but comes to no harm. This echos the taming theme we had from Ursa Major. But it reminds us there can be a savage side to this decan for those that have not evolved past their basic instincts. Lastly, Naos is found in the stern of the Great ship Argos, Naos is a term used to describe an inner chamber inside a church or sacred place, which would contain a religious icon. These noble Lions have tamed, organised and civilised your whole life for you. Now on your knees and give them due worship, if you want to keep these cats purring. You know their shadow can be particularly beastly.

The Royal baby is born at 4.24pm BST on July 22 2013 on Paddington, London. He arrived two hours before a full Moon, which means our little prince was born at the gibbous phase. He is perfecting and refining what has been developing through his family line. “As the light becomes dominant, there is a questing for revelations. The symbolic seed buds” [1] The prince has the grand trine for protection (I think he is going to need it as you will see..), and a dignified Jupiter conjunct Mars which are both on the announcer star Mirzam.

I wrote that the full Moon on the day he was born “could be a blade of truth piercing through a tissue of lies where the puffed-up charlatan deflates into a pathetically sad heap on the floor.” That and the influence of Mirzam makes him a broadcaster who could be a bit of a whistle blower. This is poignant since his grandmother died fleeing journalists. Still, she was the darling of the press too and still is, hence our fascination with her descendants. Mercury is strong too since it is dignified and on brilliant Sirius. So he will be outspoken and I think speak out about injustices. He may even be controversial enough to reveal some long buried family secrets and slay some ancestral dragons.

Royal Baby Horoscope

There is a stellium in 9th house, putting emphasis on foreign lands and philosophy. A royal does travel a lot, but he will more than most and will be fascinated by the native culture of the countries he visits. He will do more than just shake hands and smile.

The prince gets the current grand water trine at its best, with Mercury and Karmic Saturn now direct. What is interesting is his North Node on the coming November Eclipse point, Acrux the cross, so religion will be important to him. Hopefully with all that 9th house emphasis, he will embrace a wider spirituality and not tow the traditional Church of England line. I like his North Node even closer to Alphecca the corona. Destined to wear a crown, but this one is more of a tiara! He will be totally in touch with his inner female… Lilith conjunct Jupiter supports that.

The Prince of Cambridge has been born at a pretty auspicious moment, however the chart contains no quincunx or semi-sextile thinking and planning aspects. He is all or nothing, and we have the spice of the generational Uranus square Pluto which prevents the grand trine from lapsing into being a nothing.

What I find fascinating is that the royal baby was born just two minutes shy of Sun in tropical Leo, a sign that dominates the recent generation of the Royal family. The stellium in tropical Cancer supports his Cancer decan 3 Sun. This makes him the bridge between his lunar ancestry (His grand-mother Diana; Sun Cancer.) and his royal Leo heritage. He is born bang in the centre of the two luminary-ruled months. Cancer and Leo, the glorious summer months of the northern tropical calendar. I think that’s very symbolic indeed. He stays a Sun Cancer then, but has Venus on Regulus, the heart of the Lion!

Algol

One last spine-chilling point; The new Prince has Algol conjunct the part of fortune on his DC. This is angular and not something we can ignore since Princess Diana and his father William both had/have Venus on Algol. However Prince William’s Venus is conjunct wounded Chiron too, both the apex of a Yod pointing straight at his sons descendant. Will this Prince marry someone controversial and of another culture perhaps? It could wrap-up the fate that was started by Diana and Dodi, but also open up that old family wound. The synastry between Diana, William and his new son will no doubt be amazing to look at, which I will try to do in another post.

The Star of David on July 29 2013 is a rare alignment also known as a grand sextile.  A true Star Of David will have three oppositions, three mystic rectangles and two grand trines encased by 6 sextiles.  I will try to unravel this tangled up mess of a formation, but before we all go ga-ga about this Star Of David being a sign of spontaneous mass enlightenment, I will also refer you to Mary Shea’s site. Mary has been studying this aspect pattern since 1990 and found some of these SOD’s (Yes, that may well be an appropriate abbreviation!) have occurred at the start of wars. Of this current Star of David 2013 she says “The Sun is at the apex of a tight t-square in this chart. (The Quarter Moon). It is difficult to say whether this is a war star or not. Saturn is a malefic squaring the Sun, but the Moon is certainly not a malefic planet. I would tend to think a “middle of the road” interpretation would be best. With the threat from Iran’s nuclear program and terriorist groups around the world, I would call this a silent, unseen war. Saturn is in secrecy Scorpio.”  The Moon sets off this thing and falls in Taurus decan 1, the “Raging Bulls” where there are so many dictators and powerful leaders..

We have the ongoing grand water trine (Lilith conjunct) Jupiter /Saturn/Neptune all at 5º-7º. So far it seems to have been a healing trine, with a tendency to glorify a golden age in the past. Many of us have been reaching back to our ancestors. And we have also had the recent birth of Prince George bringing back the ghost of Princess Diana. The Star of David has a second earth trine of Moon/Venus/Pluto all at 8º-9º Mars opposite Pluto turns it into a powerful Kite. What is special about the Star of David is the amount of oppositions. These will pack a punch, so its not surprising that Mary Shea found that these Star Of Davids can start wars.

As I said in my article about the Grand trine, some medieval astrologers maintained they were “evil”. So looking at the oppositions we see that Venus opposite Neptune can be love delusion, Moon opposite Saturn, depression and disappointment and Mars opposite Pluto can be abuse. It’s more than a little worrying. A very advanced soul could certainly make magic with this one, but it in the wrong hands, those lovely trines could be putting a glossy veneer on top of deep rot happening inside. Those trines will do anything to uphold the status quo, however Mars opposite Pluto may just erupt and burst the trine-tastic bubble. Let’s check out the stars before we start predicting word war three…

Karmic Saturn is on Gacrux the April Lunar eclipse degree in the crucifix still. A holy war? We have enough of those on this planet right now, so I think this is more than that. The Sun on Praesaepe is invoking the spirit of the ancestors, so this could be a spiritual war about belief systems and ancient V modern wisdom. Are we going to wake up to just how “dumbed-down” we have all become? Is it that Garden of Eden moment once again? Lilith is there holding the apple. But the habitual moon and our family programming is warning us off the forbidden fruit. Moon is on Hamal “Patient, slow success through hard work, trouble through love affairs (Lilith the mistress) but favorable for marriage (Eve the dutiful wife)”. This star tends to be a hothead and is linked to “violence brutishness, cruelty and premeditated crime.” I’m thinking violence against single women (ie Liliths), but the wives and mothers are protected and sacred. Venus on Alioth in the Great Bear supports this.

War Of The Roses

I usually give a very tight orb to fixed stars like Alioth so far from the ecliptic, but at 15’ it might be worth considering: “ if Alioth is felt to make an impact, it is Mars like and of a destructive kind. Associated with the Sun, suicidal thoughts will be eminent in female cosmograms.” Not great for women then. Pluto has retrograded to ruthless Facies “It is one of the most difficult, and possibly the most violent, objects in the heavens. It gives a penetration of action that has no regard for others…Facies in a chart will indicate that the planet it touches will be very focused and driven…” On Pluto the abductor? Ouch…

So we have all this in the earth trine opposite Mars. Atleast Mars is on Alhena “Superficial nature, fond of pleasure, ease, luxury, ornament and display.” Let’s hope Mars will be too busy mincing around in front of the mirror to be picking fights. I get the feeling of bitchy words, verbal-fencing, whistle-blowing and poison-pen letters. The war and violence in this configuration will be from the mouth I think. The Lilith conjunct Jupiter part of the Mars stellium are on the announcer star Mirzam. So this Star Of David could bring revelations from a spurned or maltreated lover. Dishing the dirt publicly on any abuse received is possible. It’s not just relationships where this could surface. It could be ex-employers speaking out against a corrupt corporation too. Neptune is on idealistic-in-love Fomalhaut. This star at its highest vibration is pure love. It might just save this Star Of David from being too painful. Will love conquer all? Let’s hope so. I think this aspect pattern will bring us to the brink of revealing something we shouldn’t out of spite or revenge. But in the end compassion will prevent us from going through with it if we truly love the person. On the other hand, if that person really is an utter cad, then they are really going to get what’s coming to them!
